An oil separator of superlative efficiency attempts to achieve maximum levels of oil extraction from an air-oil vapor mixture found in the crankcase of an engine. If not both, at least all of advanced separation technology utilizes multi stage centrifugal separation with filter media of high porosity and small pore sizes. The smaller oil droplets can be captured by the separator resulting in reduced oil carry over to the intake system of the engine. Turbo engines or engines with direct fuel injection stand to gain the most from high efficiency oil separators because a clean intake air increases the performance of the engine. This separator type allows maintaining the high oil separation ratio, improves engine performance while reducing emissions, protects the components of the engine by preventing oil-related fouling and wear, and prolongs the life of the components.
